COURAGE

Courage, a small word but got a deep meaning. As a youngster I really never understood it, with age dictionary taught me COURAGE meant to face the fear. As youngster i was over joyed with the meaning and thought I was Courageous as I faced my results boldly however bad they were. Further I grew in age, and the meaning still remained unchanged. I further had 3 set of people as per the by hearted definition of who were Courageous. 1)my mom who fought all the odds and stood boldly for her kids, 2) soldiers who stood still with the changing weather, changing time working hard to safeguard what he left behind ,3) doctors who see all the pain, understand , treat it and however bad the situation might be they try there level to fight it.

Recently I meet the fourth category of people, in the 66th Army Day Parade. The families of the soldier, who walked in proudly receiving the gallantry award posthumously. They had an aura which was unlike the normal crowd, the pride in there eyes, there head was high while they walked, and heavy heart made them away from the normal crowd. We all see the soldier fighting hard, and putting his life at stake for you, me and us, but none knows about his family. None knows how his wife fights with life, none knows her loneliness . No one knows how his father or mother feels seeing his young son gone in a age when he needs him the most for taking care of him. None knows about the little kid who knows nothing about his/her father, what he looked like, they dont remember his feel his touch, all they remember is his name as that goes along with there name. The sister who's longed to tie rakhi on her brothers wrist. The best friend bond shared by the brothers, and those long list of friends for them, the space will always be empty inspite of moving ahead in life.

The families and friends they learn to live without the soldier. They learn to cope up with the loss, while the whole nation is proud of him and his brave deed. It takes family a lot of courage to come on the stage facing the world and hear about there brave man. There is a pride in there eyes as the pain fades away. The whole country boosts there morale, the whole country is supporting them. The families listen about there favourite men proudly when told about his act of bravery. This act of bravery is incomparable and unexplainable. This fourth set of families I saw were out of the crowd. They were courageous to stand alone Inspite of there loss. They were courageous to face the world alone inspite of there loved ones promising to be always be with them. They are courageous to listen and tell the stories of there loved ones act of bravery to the whole world. On top of that they were courageous to live alone in this big world without there most favourite men. My salute to such families who sacrificed there brave men for our country to keep you and i save.
